Atlanta, Ga. - In their third straight victory, Rhodes College men's lacrosse had 12 different Lynx secure a goal in their 14-7 road win at Oglethorpe University. This marks the fourth game in a row in which at least nine different players have scored.
Rhodes broke open to a 5-0 lead before the Stormy Petrels found the back of the net four minutes into the second quarter. The Lynx closed out the half on a 5-1 run which included the final four goals of the quarter.
Each team secured two goals in the third quarter as the Lynx led 12-4 after 45 minutes of action. Rhodes scored first in the fourth quarter before Oglethorpe ended the game on a 3-1 run.
Ryan Dancy and
Conor Casey were the only Lynx to net more than one goal with two each on the evening.
Tyler Pellegrino also added two points with two assists.
In goal,
Stephen Miller got the start and win as he recorded six saves, four ground balls, and two caused turnovers. At the faceoff,
J.J. Hoots went 8-for-10 with six ground balls while
Will Perryman also recorded six ground balls and went 5-for-6. Defender
Alexi Thomas also tallied four ground balls.
Rhodes will travel to Sewanee for two non-conference rivalry games this Thursday and Friday. No fans will be allowed.
