Men's Lacrosse Picks Up Big Win At Berry

Mount Berry, Ga. - In their first road trip of the season, Rhodes College men's lacrosse dodged tornados on their way to face the Berry College Vikings. The Lynx came away with the 14-10 victory and now sit 2-2 on the year and 2-0 in conference play.

After Berry began the game with a 2-1 advantage, Rhodes scored three straight goals on their way to a 4-1 run to end the first quarter. The Lynx took an 8-4 lead before Berry pulled within one after scoring three in a row. Ryan Dancy gave Rhodes a little breathing room with a goal with 1:45 left before halftime.

Each team netted one goal in the third quarter before they each scored twice in the fourth quarter. Rhodes then finished the game with two goals in the final eight minutes of play.

Rhodes was charged with 11 of the 16 penalties called in the game.

Matt Leone led the Lynx with six points on four goals and two assists while Tyler Pellegrino and Ryan Dancy each scored twice. Ethan Frischhertz led Rhodes with five ground balls while Brendan Roberts recorded five saves for the win. In total, nine different Lynx scored a goal.

Rhodes will now travel to Oglethorpe to take on the Stormy Petrels at 4 p.m. ET Sunday.
