Memphis - Rhodes College men's soccer improves to 2-0 after a 2-1 victory over Birmingham-Southern Sunday.
BSC scored first in the eighth minute of the game and held a 1-0 halftime advantage. During the first half, Lynx goalkeeper
Nathan Meglic made two saves to keep Rhodes in the game as the Panthers held a 5-3 shot advantage.
In the 53rd minute,
Nic DiMauro tied the game after rounding up a bouncing ball inside the box. DiMauro, surrounded by a group of Panthers, footed the ball into the bottom right corner of the goal. Later,
Aidan Sullivan scored the game-winner in the 67th minute. Rhodes gained possession of the ball after a goal kick and sent it to the top right corner of the box. DiMauro beat the Panthers to the ball when Sullivan dribbled it between two Panthers and slipped it into the right side of the cage past BSC's sliding goalkeeper.
During the second half the Lynx held a 5-4 shot advantage and 3-0 corner kick advantage.
Rhodes will travel for a big matchup at Oglethorpe on Friday followed by a contest at Berry on Sunday.
