Buena Vista, Va. - Rhodes College men's lacrosse saw their undefeated season stopped by Southern Virginia (SVU) as the Lynx hit the road to start spring break. The Knights defeated the Lynx 22-12 and improve to 6-1 on the year while Rhodes is now 5-1 overall.
SVU began the game winning nine of the first 11 clears on their way to a 7-3 first quarter advantage which included a 26-9 shot advantage. The Lynx posted the first two goals of the second quarter to pull within two (7-5), but the hosts would close out the first half on a 5-1 run to lead 12-6.
SVU opened the second half with four unanswered goals before Rhodes went on a 4-1 run to cut the lead to seven. The teams would net two goals each as SVU led 19-12 headed into the final quarter. The Knights shut out the Lynx in the fourth quarter 3-0.
SVU went a 50-35 ground ball advantage, completed 20 of 22 clear attempts, went 25-of-36 at the faceoff and held a 76-41 shot advantage. Rhodes went 14-of-28 in clears and 11-of-36 at the faceoff.

Brendan Roberts made a program-record 26 saves in loss, 10 of which came in the first quarter. He also picked up a team-high seven ground balls. On the faceoff,

Christian Cisneros and
Ryan Dancy both recorded a hat trick.
Addison Mueller scored twice and
Jonathon Hazlehurst,
Ryan Marasco,
Mac Ference and Hoots each tallied a lone goal.
Rhodes will turn around and face No. 1-ranked Salisbury at 1 p.m. ET in Maryland on Monday.
