Memphis - Rhodes College men's tennis defeated Spring Hill College 5-2 at the Dunavant Tennis Complex on Sunday in their home opener. The Lynx are now 2-1 on the season after handing the Badgers their first loss of the season.
Playing DII rules, the Lynx went up 1-0 after winning No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Seniors

Andrew Morton teamed up for the No. 1 win (7-5) to earn the first point of the match.
Kicking off singles,
Frank Stich won 7-6 (4), 6-0 in the sixth slot before Spring Hill won at No. 2 to pull within one. The Lynx secured wins from Trudell at No. 5 (6-3, 6-3) and Morton at No. 4 (6-2, 7-5) in the deciding match. Leading 4-1, Chatterjee won at No. 1 singles in a tiebreaker 4-6, 6-0, 10-7 before the Badgers closed the match with a tiebreaker win in the No. 3 slot.
Rhodes will not compete next weekend and will travel to Nicholasville, Ky. for matches against No. 26- Denison and Wooster February 22-23.
