Nicholasville, Ky. - Rhodes College men's tennis suffered a 7-2 loss at the hands of No. 26-ranked Denison University Saturday.
The Lynx won at No. 2 doubles to open the match as
Ritwik Chatterjee and
Phil Lauture teamed up for the 8-4 victory. Both other doubles went into tie-breakers as
Andrew Morton and
Daniel Trudell fell 8-7, 8-1 at No. 1 doubles. In the final doubles position,
Frank Stich and
Alex Lloyd battled it out, succumbing to the Big Red after a long matchup to an 8-7, 8-6 loss.Â
Denison took No. 1 and 2 singles while Trudell won at No. 5 singles 6-0, 6-3. Stich fell 6-3, 7-6 (3) and Denison won at No. 4 singles 6-4, 7-6 (4) before taking the third singles position 3-6, 6-1, 10-8 as Morton forced the tie-breaker set.Â
Rhodes is back in action Sunday against The College of Wooster at 12 p.m. ET.
