Memphis - Rhodes College women's tennis fell to the University of Arkansas- Fort Smith 7-2 Friday at the Dunavant Tennis Complex.
Rhodes went up 2-1 after securing victories at No. 2 doubles (6-4) and No. 3 doubles in a tiebreaker (7-6, 7-1). The Lynx fought hard in singles, falling in three tiebreakers at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 5 spots. At No. 1,
Michelle Adan-Pol took both of her sets to tiebreakers, ultimately falling 6-7 (4-7), 6-7 (3-7). Freshman
Lea Letourneau split her first two matches and fell in a close tiebreaker 8-10.
Dallas Bennett won her first set 7-6 (7-4) before her opponent the second set followed by the tiebreaker.
Rhodes opens conference play on the road at Hendrix Saturday for a 12 p.m. match.
