Conway, Ark. - Rhodes College men's tennis opened the 2020 spring season with a loss to NCAA Division II Harding University (6-1), before the Lynx swept Hendrix College 9-0 to open conference play.

Playing DII rules where best-of-three doubles counts as one points, the Bison swept the Lynx in doubles to go up 1-0. Harding took a 3-1 lead after winning second and third singles before Ritwick Chatterjee picked up the only Lynx win of the match at No. 1-singles. Chatterjee bested his opponent 2-6, 6-3, 10-2.

The Lynx defeated the Warriors 8-1, 8-0 and 8-2 in doubles before sweeping Hendrix in four of their six singles matches. 

Rhodes will hit the courts again Sunday with home openers against Spring Hill at 9 a.m. followed by LeMoyne-Owen at 1 p.m.
