Rome, Ga. - The Lynx of Rhodes University rallied behind their offense as they took on the Greenville University Panthers Saturday morning. Rhodes tallied 17 hits in the ballgame as they cruised their way to a 12-6 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Bottom of 1st inning: Three Lynx base hits and a defensive error helped bring home the first Rhodes run of the ballgame (1-0).
Bottom of 2nd inning: A Will Heurtin single to left field plated two Lynx baserunners, while a throwing error moved Huertin into scoring position (3-0). John McNair smoked a single down the right field line to bring home two more Lynx to extend their early lead (5-0).Â
Top of 3rd inning: The Panthers chipped away at the lead as they capitalized off of a walk and a triple (5-2).
Bottom of 3rd inning: Rhodes answered back as Sam Roffwarg singled to right field bringing home Ben Wilson (6-2).
Top of 4th inning: Greenville brought home their third run of the ballgame when a single brought in one (6-3).
Bottom of 6th inning: The Lynx strung together a few hits and used a defensive error to their advantage to bring home three more runs (9-3).
Top of 7th inning: The Panthers kept chipping away at the lead as a home run to left field added to their total (9-4).
Bottom of 7th inning: Rhodes got that run right back as a Wood Kimbrough sacrifice fly to left field brought home Huertin (10-4).
Top of 8th inning: Two runs scored for the Panthers when a wild pitch plated one and a ground out brought home another (10-6).
Bottom of 8th inning: A Paul Giacomazzi single up the middle brought home the last two runs of the ballgame (12-6).
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- A total of 25 base hits were recorded in the ballgame. Rhodes finished with 17 and Greenville tallied eight.
- Nine different Lynx had a base knock. Seven of those nine recorded a multi hit game.
- Peter York, Josh Esclamado Huertin, Giacomazzi, McNair, Wilson, and tallied at least two hits in the ball game. Huertin led the way with three.
- McNair finished the game with four RBIs in the contest. Huertin and Giacomazzi recorded two RBIs each.
- Gray was awarded the win, on the mound, as he came out of relief tossing three innings, while allowing one run and striking out four Panthers' hitters.
