Lynx Take Down Sewanee on Senior Day

Tunica, Miss. - Rhodes College women's swimming celebrated senior day prior to their final dual of the season. The Lynx defeated Sewanee 183-77 en route to 11 total victories including two relays. 

"It's great to end the second half of the season with back-to-back wins entering the championship season," said head coach Steve Webb. "The women went undefeated during the regular season against SAA opponents, putting us in great position to tear it up at the conference championship meet."

The Lynx began the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay in 1:53.15 by Sinead Eksteen, Julia Cronk, Mia Harris and Madi Griffin, followed by eight individual wins before Griffin, Mary Beth Baker, Eksteen and Nancy Hulslander won the 200 free relay (1:42.61). Elyse Jacobs then finished the day with a win in the 1000 free by over nine seconds (11:24.09).

The Lynx picked up the following individual wins between relay victories:
Madi Griffin: 200 free (1:58.61), 100 free (54.99)
Julia Cronk: 100 breast (1:13.35)
Mia Harris: 200 fly (2:14.53), 100 fy (1:03.23)
Sinead Eksteen: 50 free (24.22), 500 free (5:03.43)
Lilli Metts: 200 back (2:19.22)

Rhodes will train for several weeks before traveling to Birmingham, Ala. for the SAA Championships Feb. 12-15.
