Women’s Swim & Dive Hold 2nd Place in Day 1 of the SAA Championship

The Women's Swim and Dive team clenches 2nd place, finishing behind Trinity University and 2 points higher than last year's champion, Centre College.

The Championship opened up with relay and medley events, and the team had strong performances in the A and B races. In the 200 Yard Medley, the A-team (Gracie Shapard, Paxton Smythe, Taylor Mcnerney, Madolyn Holmes) finished 2nd to the Tigers with a time of 1:46.02. The B-team (Ainsley Clark, Autumn Bruns, Cece BaileyAbby Carter) had an exceptional 3rd place finish with a time of 1:49.68. 

In the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay, the A-team (Kendall Mitzel, Emma Knoesel, Makenna Mitzel, Taylor Mcnerney) took 3rd place in their race, with a time of 7:49.14. For the B-team (MacKenzie Roach, Annie Murer, Kate Pierros, Charlotte Hill) the Lynx took 1st in their race for a time of 7:53.49.

Looking ahead: SAA Championships Day two

The Lynx continue their championship performances, with Thursday, February 12th, providing the chance for individual athletes to shine. Fans are encouraged to support the Lynx as they swim for the number one spot in the SAA.
