Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Rhodes Challenges but Falls to Emory

Atlanta, Ga. – Rhodes men's soccer was hosted by Emory University for a toasty mid-day match on Sunday. Rhodes mounted a tough fight for most of the game, only to be topped by a talented Emory squad.

The first half of the game resulted in a statistically even period for the most part as Rhodes put up half a dozen shots to Emory's five. Freshman Andrew Keeney gave the Emory keeper a scare after striking the ball from nearly twenty yards out and hitting the crossbar. Emory, however, would find the back of the net in the 36th minute with one of their shots. The Lynx would bounce back and continue to maintain possession, looking dangerous up the flanks. The half would conclude with Emory's one goal advantage.

The second half would be more testing for Rhodes. Emory came out of halftime with a hand on the throttle and put up ten shots. Nathan Meglic would account for a total of four saves on the day for the Lynx. Emory scored from a penalty kick and a free kick in the 54th and 60th minutes. The game would finish as a 3-0 win for the Eagles.

Rhodes prepares for a Saturday match against Alabama rival Birmingham-Southern College on October 5th in Birmingham for their second SAA test.
