Women's Golf Improves to Ninth After Third Round of NCAA Championship

Houston, Texas - Rhodes College women's golf concluded the third round of the 2019 NCAA Women's Golf Championship in ninth place after firing 312, the fourth lowest round of the day. Senior Emily Salamy now leads the field by herself after shooting her second 74 of the championship (+2). She is now seven-over par after three rounds and 10 birdies.

So far the Lynx have shot rounds of 319, 318 and 312 to reach their ninth place standing. In Thursday's round, Rhodes totaled eight birdies, six of which came on the final five holes of the day. Tabitha Diehl shot her best of the tournament so far at six-over par as did senior teammate Melissa Kiker who fired a seven-over par. Annie Paris recorded her first birdies of the championship with two on the day on her way to shooting nine-over with freshman Susan Morris a stroke behind Paris. 

Williams College now leads the field by eight strokes after only shooting 12-over par in the third round to jump from third to first place. Williams shot the lowest team round so far with a 300 on Thursday. 

Rhodes will be up early with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m. on hole 1 as the Lynx are paired with George Fox University and Grinnell College for the fourth and final round. Live stats and complete results are available here.
