Memphis, Tenn. - The No. 9 regionally ranked Rhodes College men's tennis team held on for the conference win over No. 10 regionally ranked Millsaps College Tuesday afternoon. It's the first win over the Majors for Rhodes since 2016 and the third win in a row for the Lynx who are now 10-6 on the year and 4-1 in conference.
Rhodes went up 4-2 on Sunday before the indoor match at Memphis Country Club was halted. The SAA opponents picked back up Tuesday afternoon at the Dunavant Tennis Complex with the Majors taking No. 4 singles 6-1, 6-4. Senior
Sean Hogan headed into Tuesday up 3-0 in the first set at No. 6 singles. After winning the first set 6-0, he went up 4-1 before the Major came back 4-3 before Hogan clinched the match 6-3.
Rhodes will close out the regular season this weekend, hosting Berry College on Saturday (Senior Day) and Oglethorpe on Sunday. Fans should stay tuned to social media (@RhodesAthletics) and the website for schedule changes due to the weather.
