Murfreesboro, Tenn. - The No. 3 seeded Rhodes College women's tennis team held off No. 6 seeded Berry 5-3 to advance to the semifinals on Saturday.
The Lynx swept doubles thanks in part to
Michelle Adan-Pol and
Dasha Safarian who overcame a hungry Viking squad at No. 1 doubles 8-7 (8-6). Rhodes posted 8-2 and 8-5 wins at two and three doubles. Berry won No. 2 singles before
Tricia Sculco put the Lynx up 4-1 at No. 6 singles (6-1, 6-1). The Vikings took two more singles wins before
Kate McGough managed to clinch the match for Rhodes at No. 4 singles 6-3, 6-4.
Rhodes will face No. 2 Centre at noon Saturday.
