Colorado Springs, Colo. - Rhodes men's lacrosse succumbed to Colorado College 17-11 Saturday. The Tigers, who are receiving votes in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association, out-shot the Lynx 54-34. Rhodes, who was on a four-game win streak prior to the game, is now 5-2 on the year while the Tigers are now 3-2.
After the Tigers scored the first four goals of the game, Rhodes tallied three to pull within one five minutes after the second quarter started. Colorado College then notched three goals to lead 7-3 at halftime, which included a goal in the final 31 seconds. The Tigers opened the second half with a goal, but three straight from the Lynx pulled Rhodes within two goals. That deficit was quickly erased when the Tigers went on a 5-1 run to lead 13-7 to break open the game.
Karl Van Blargan led the Lynx with five goals and one assist.
Alexi Thomas tallied two assists and
J.J. Hoots recorded three ground balls.
Cameron Link saved 12 in cage.
Rhodes went 16-of-21 in clears and 11-of-32 in turnovers. Colorado College successfully made 17 clears on 19 attempts.
Rhodes is scheduled to host Kean University on Wednesday, March 13 at 6 p.m.
