Redlands, Calif. - Rhodes College women's tennis opened spring break with a 6-3 loss to No. 26-ranked University of the Redlands.
Rhodes took No. 2-doubles in the tiebreaker as
Caroline Doherty and
Kate McGough teamed up for the 8-7, 7-3 victory! Redlands then took the third, fourth and sixth singles matches, ultimately earning the victory as they led 5-1.
Dasha Safarian held on and won at No. 2-singles 4-6, 7-5, 10-5 while
Michelle Adan-Pol took the No. 1-singles victory 7-5, 6-4 to close out the match.
Dallas Bennett almost won at No. 5-singles. She fell in the first set tiebreaker 6-7 (3) before taking the second set 6-4 and ultimately falling 8-10 in the super tiebreaker.
The Lynx will have Wednesday and Thursday off before they take on Whittier at 3 p.m. PST on Friday, March 8. The Lynx started a match against Caltech Tuesday afternoon, but rain forced it to be postponed and eventually cancelled altogether.
