Hardeeville, S.C. - Under some less than ideal circumstances, the Lynx pulled out the victory at the Pfeiffer Invitational at The Club at Hilton Head Lakes in Hardeeville, S.C. They won by 29 shots over Malone College (Ohio).
The team was led by senior
Emily Salamy's outstanding round of 75(+3), which moved her up the leaderboard to first place. Freshman
Susan Morris came in third individually shooting 77(+5) and senior
Melissa Kiker came in fifth with a 84(+12).
Sophomores
Tabitha Diehl and
Annie Paris shot 85 and 84, respectively while junior
Mary Melissa Manuel shot 84. Freshman
Karrington Knight rounded out the Lynx scores with an 86.
"For the course receiving two and a half inches of rain over the past two nights and the team not getting to warm up, we persevered and finished strong today," said Diehl. "I'm happy we are starting off the spring season with our third victory of the year."
The team tees it up again at the Jekyll Island Intercollegiate March 15-17.
