Memphis - Rhodes scored within the first 40 seconds against Centre College before the game was tied 2-2 with 24:38 to play in the first half. The Lynx scored seven straight goals to open the game for the eventual 16-7 victory over the Colonels to improve to 4-0 against conference opponents.
After a 10-3 Lynx halftime lead, Centre pulled within five after going on a 4-1 run with 11:31 left to play. The Lynx broke open the game once again, finishing the game with four straight goals.
Rhodes only made nine of 16 clears in the first half trying to get past Centre's ride. The Lynx countered by winning 16 draw controls and limiting the Colonels to nine draw controls.
Aidan Pike scored four goals to lead the game while
Annika Hedlund secured the game-high five points on three goals. Also scoring hat tricks were
Madison Rubino (who was assisted by Hedlund on back-to-back goals) and
Baylee Barker.
Izzy Parker tallied the game-high eight draw controls and three assists.
On defense,
Lauren Lazure made 15 saves.
Rhodes is on the road this weekend, headed to Oglethorpe University for a 12 p.m. ET game on Saturday, April 6.
