Memphis - Rhodes College baseball scored three runs in the third inning to shutout Christian Brothers University Wednesday afternoon. Rhodes is now 8-9 on the season.
The Lynx tallied eight hits and took advantage of five Buccaneer errors, including one in the third. After two singles and a walk, senior
Zach Liebenson bunted towards first base to record two RBI on the sacrifice bunt. In the next at-bat,
Will Heurtin bunted to third.
Court Cosco advanced to third base and then scored on a Buccaneer error.
The runs were enough on a bullpen day for the Lynx who recorded four hitless innings.
John Ganucheau started the game for the Lynx and earned the win after striking out three across two scoreless innings. The sixth pitcher of the day,
Nathan Mirochnick, earned the save after striking out two Bucs in the ninth.
Rhodes will now head to Birmingham-Southern for a three-game conference series beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1 p.m.
