Conway, Ark. - Rhodes College men's basketball rebounded from a 17-point first half to score 33 points in the second half before falling to Hendrix in the conference opener 70-50. The loss is now the fourth in a row for the Lynx who are 3-8 on the season. Hendrix is now 7-5 overall after shooting 44.6% in the field against the Lynx.
Rhodes struggled from long range, blanking on 19 attempts from the three-point arc, 13 of which came in the first half. The Lynx went 11-of-27 in the field in the second half, for a shooting percentage of .407. During that second frame the Lynx committed only six turnovers compared to the Warriors' 11, but Hendrix out-rebounded Rhodes 24-12, ultimately edging them 37-33 in scoring.Â
Kevin Shen led the Lynx with 11 points and five rebounds while
Jalen Essick totaled 10 points and
Koki Wiley seven rebounds. Shen and
Preston Giroux both went 4-of-9 in the field.Â
The Lynx will look ahead to a road game at Berry on Friday at 8 p.m. ET.
