Memphis - The Rhodes men's basketball team was handed a tough loss today after facing the McMurry War Hawks in the Rhodes Holiday Classic by a final score of 74-64. The War Hawks are now 4-5 and the Lynx are 3-7. 

After Rhodes stayed neck-and-neck with the War Hawks throughout the first half and only trailed by one, McMurry extended their lead with eight straight points to open the second half. Rhodes cut McMurry's eventual 12-point lead to three points with six minutes left in the game. The War Hawks responded with seven unanswered points, insuring their eventual 10-point victory. 

McMurry led the Lynx in second chance points (8-2) and fast breaks (7-6). The Lynx led in points from turnovers (14-12), in the paint (26-20) and from the bench (13-10).

Koki Wiley led Rhodes with 12 total points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals. Both Preston Giroux and Bryce Berry had 11 total points and four rebounds while Wiley Pippenger tallied five rebounds. The Lynx dropped from above .500 in the field against Belhaven to .365 against the War Hawks. Rhodes shot .714 at the free throw line, connecting on 10-of-14 attempts.

The Lynx will have a break before they play again on December 31, opening Southern Athletic Association play at Hendrix College.
