Pineville, La. - Rhodes men's basketball fell to Louisiana College Saturday 78-66 after a 35-26 halftime deficit.
The Lynx jumped out to a six-point lead until the Tigers answered with nine unanswered points themselves. Louisiana College then went on a 7-3 run to open the game and lead 16-9. The hosts led by 11 points with three minutes left in the first half.
Rhodes cut their deficit to six points about a minute into the second half but 10 straight points for the Tigers put the hosts ahead by 16. The Lynx ran out of time as they only trailed by eight with 1:46 left in the game.
Preston Giroux led Rhodes in scoring with 19 points going 6-of-9 in the field and sinking 7-of-8 free throw attempts. He also grabbed six rebounds. Freshman
Koki Wiley led the Lynx with eight rebounds and five assists in addition to his 13 points while
Jalen Essick totaled 11 points.
The Lynx will have one more game before Thanksgiving break when they travel to Belhaven University on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 7:30 p.m.
