Memphis - Rhodes College volleyball honored seniors

Emily Korba prior to almost upsetting Hendrix College in their first game of the day Saturday. After falling 3-2, the Lynx then turned around to capture a victory in their final game of the regular season when they took down Belhaven 3-1.
Hendrix
With a 10-3 conference record going into Saturday's game and third seed in the tournament standings, Hendrix came out swinging to win set one 25-16. But Rhodes reversed the roles in the second set, jumping out to a 16-5 lead on their way to a 25-14 win to even the score. The Warriors took the third set 25-22 before Rhodes forced a fifth set. With the game tied 16-16, a 5-1 run put the Lynx ahead for good. With the fifth set tied 9-9, the Warriors put up six straight points to close out the match.
Belhaven
A close first set went to Belhaven (25-23) before the Lynx dominated the following two sets 25-13 and 25-10. A 9-2 run gave Rhodes a 17-11 lead in the fourth set before Belhaven tried to force a fifth set. Six straight Blazer points tied the game 18-18. The Lynx led by two until Belhaven took a 22-20 lead after scoring four unanswered points. A Belhaven service error sparked four points in a row for the Lynx. The Blazers pulled within one before
Kelsey Glasper put the win away.
Kathryn Chambers and Korba both tallied 11 kills against Hendrix while Glasper added 10 to go along with her 24 digs. Leading the Lynx in the back row was libero
Marissa Hall with 25 digs while
Sarah Nieland recorded 22 assists. Against Belhaven, Hall added another 32 digs while Glasper added 22. She reocded 17 kills against the Blazers to total 27 on the day. Korba added another 10.
Rhodes will open the single-elimination conference tournament in Birmingham, Ala. on Friday against No. 2-seeded Berry College. The Lynx, seeded seventh, will take on the Vikings at noon CT.
