Memphis - Rhodes women's soccer suffered a 2-0 loss to Birmingham-Southern in a suspended contest with saw the teams play 80:31. It's the first conference loss for Rhodes who are now 1-1 in the SAA and 7-4 overall.
Both teams came out firing with five shots in the first 10 minutes of the game. The Lynx earned the first corner kick just 1:34 into the game and followed up with consecutive shots only for BSC goalie Blakely Jones to make the early saves.
The Lynx doubled their shots against the Panthers in the first half (10-5) and overall in the game (17-8) while also holding a 10-0 corner advantage.
The game was scoreless until the 64th minute when BSC powered the ball from beyond the box over the head of Lynx goalkeeper
Abby Roevens. The Panthers followed it up with another goal four minutes later.
The game was sent into a lightning delay in the 81st minute and with the men still needing to play, the women's game was eventually suspended.
Rhodes is on the road next weekend over Fall Break, traveling to Sewanee and Centre.
