Memphis - Rhodes College women's soccer earned a shutout for
Carly Cone,
Katelyn Curtis and
Taylor Ryan on Senior Day. The trio was recognized prior to their 3-0 victory over Hendrix College Sunday.
With not-so-great field conditions, the Lynx scored all three goals in the first half, beginning in the 27th minute as
Sarah DiLuzio scored the game-winner and seventh goal of the season. Cone punched in a goal on a penalty kick in the 37th minute to highlight her day before freshman
Christine McCullough scored her first collegiate goal a minute and a half later on an assist from Curtis.
In the game, sophomore
Abby Roevens made three saves to record her eighth shutout of the season. Hendrix goalkeeper Avery Jensen totaled seven saves including five in the second half.
Rhodes out shot Hendrix 18-8 and totaled four corner kicks, all in the second half.
Rhodes, who is now 11-5 overall, earned second place in the conference standings with a 5-2 record. The Lynx will host Oglethorpe University who went 1-6, in the SAA quarterfinals on Saturday, November 2.
