Memphis - Tied 6-6, Rhodes College women's basketball scored eight straight points on their way to a 10-point lead over Hendrix College during the first period. The Lynx never relinquished their lead, propelling them to 8-4 on the year after defeating the Warriors 60-46 in the first conference game of the season.
Leading 22-16, the Lynx scored seven unanswered points to open the second period and take a 13-point advantage. At halftime Rhodes led 34-24 as
Ellen Hagen dropped a trey. Neither team would score in the final four minutes of the half.
Hendrix cut Rhodes' lead to seven at the end of the third period on a three pointer by Jayla King. The Warriors then only trailed by five points with 7:31 to play, however the Lynx went on a 14-2 run to take a 17-point advantage (58-41) with 2:51 left in the game, solidifying the victory.

Alyssa Owens tallied 13 points, five rebounds and five assists in the game after sinking two treys and all five free throw attempts. Senior
Allie Young tallied 12 points and tied fellow senior
Moriah Muhammad with seven rebounds while freshman
Kiera Downey also recorded 12 points in the win. The team's third leading rebounder was freshman
Alli Mayeux with six boards. Young went five-of-seven while Downey went 6-of-13 in the field.
During the game, Rhodes shot 45.8% in the field while Hendrix was limited to 28.8% accuracy.
The Lynx are on the road this weekend, playing at Centre College on Friday at 6 p.m. ET, followed by a contest at Sewanee on Sunday, January 6 at 1 p.m.
