Memphis - Rhodes College men's basketball held a seven-point lead before Oglethorpe led by four points at halftime. The Lynx tied the game after
Bryce Berry scored from inside the paint two minutes into the second half, but Oglethorpe went on a 13-2 to open the game. The Stormy Petrels handed Rhodes their 13th loss of the season (82-69).
Down 20 with a minute to go, Rhodes ended the game with seven unanswered points, including two treys, one each by
Nick De Feria and
Kevin Shen.
Rhodes was led by
Owen Galvin with 14 points after he connected on three of five from behind the arc.
Preston Giroux added 10 more for the Lynx, missing just one of six field goal attempts. The Lynx received four rebounds from Giroux and
Daniel Darst while
Mitch Weatherford and
Mac James each tallied three assists. Rhodes out-shot the Stormy Petrels 54.2%-50.8%, but only made 9-of-16 free throws and committed 14 turnovers compared to Oglethorpe's eight.
Oglethorpe's Will Koch and Tom Inungu each recorded 10 points while Inungu also recorded nine rebounds.
Rhodes is back at home on Sunday, January 20 at 3 p.m.
