Memphis - Rhodes College field hockey rolled over Transylvania University in their first conference game of the season. The Lynx, after scoring three goals in the first half, exploded with six goals on 14 shots in the second half. Rhodes' 6-0 start is the best start for the Lynx since the 2008 season when the squad started off 7-0.
Rhodes defender
Daryl Perry scored the game-winner two minutes into the contest on an assist from
Hailey Mules. The Lynx followed up 35 seconds later with a goal by senior
Lizzie Wood who would go on to score four goals and tally two assists in the game. Mules would conclude first half scoring on an assist from Wood.
Mules and/or Wood had a hand in every goal for the Lynx except one, which Perry scored unassisted in the 39th minute. Rhodes' second-half explosion started just 24 seconds after halftime when freshman
Hannah Luckes and Mules served up Wood. Luckes would score in the 44th minute, followed by Wood in the 61st, Mules in the 62nd and Wood again in the 68th minute for the final goal of the game.
