Danville, Ky. - Rhodes volleyball went up 2-0 at Centre College Saturday afternoon before the Colonels forced a fifth set. The Lynx pulled away with the victory, improving to .500 in conference play.

Britt Butler powered a kill down the line to tie the first set. Junior
Heather Antrim game the Lynx a 24-23 advantage after a tip kill on the right side. Centre tied the game on a kill to the corner before the Lynx took a 25-24 edge on another kill from Butler on the outside. Rhodes secured the first set victory on a kill from freshman
Drew Kalman after she tipped the ball from her middle position down the left line.
Down 11-14, Rhodes came storming back to take a 19-18 lead in the second set, forcing Centre to call a timeout. The Lynx went on to win 25-22 before Centre reversed the score in the third set to avoid the sweep.
After freshman Marisa Hall served up an ace to tie the game five-all, Centre went on a 7-1 run to open up the fourth set. The Colonels overpowered Rhodes 25-13 to force a fifth set. Centre took a 4-1 lead before Rhodes rebounded to score six straight points to re-gain the advantage.
Morgan Hill's kill sliding into the right side put away the victory for the Lynx (15-11). During the fifth set, Hill completed four kills on five attempts as she helped her team gain the win. Hill finished the game with a Lynx-high .389 hitting percentage.
Butler earned the set-high seven kills for Rhodes in the first set on 14 attempts. She finished with a double-double totaling 14 kills and 22 digs as did sophomore
Kelsey Glasper. Glasper recorded 15 kills and 16 digs. Leading the defense was libero
Mary Frances Daniel's 29 digs. Kalman hit .375 in the game and tallied three block assists.Â
Rhodes, now 8-4 on the year, will travel to Sewanee to conclude the weekend on Sunday. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
