Memphis - Rhodes field hockey defender Victoria Palazetti's defensive save in the 24th minute helped fellow junior goalkeeper
Nina Migneco and the Lynx earn their first shutout of the year. The home squad defeated Earlham 2-0 to end their first weekend of competition.

Maria Varat stole the ball from the Quakers outside the top of the circle in the 32nd minute. She drove to the cage and powered the ball to the right back corner to start the scoring and net the eventual game-winner.

Lydia Slyter served the ball into the circle for the Lynx. Freshman
Jenn Kirby then reverse swept the ball to sophomore
Ashley Neiswender who quickly scored into the back right corner to give the Lynx some breathing room.
Rhodes recorded 24 shots to Earlham's seven and achieved a 14-5 penalty corner advantage.
Rhodes, who is now 2-0 on the year, will host Wittenberg on Saturday, Sept. 8
th at 1 p.m. The Lynx will have a bench memorial dedication in honor of 2016 alumna KJ Johnson on Sunday. That ceremony is schedule for 2:30 p.m. with an alumni game to follow.
