Memphis - Three seniors came together to score Rhodes' first goal of the year in the 17th minute of their season opener against the University of Texas-Tyler Patriots.
Brenna Katz slipped the ball through traffic up the west side of the field to
Aly Hoyt who fed the ball into the box.
Sydnie Schindler then footed the ball through two defenders and the Patriot goaltender to net her first goal of the season.
Rhodes held the one-goal advantage for 36 minutes before Texas-Tyler tied the game. The Patriots then scored the game-winner almost 30 minutes later .
Senior goalkeeper
Meghan Kiker made six of her nine saves in the second half. Texas-Tyler recorded a 15-11 shot advantage while the Lynx held a 5-1 corner kick advantage.
The Lynx host Belhaven at 4 p.m. on Tuesday before hosting another two games next weekend.
