Men's Lacrosse earns SAA Regular Season Championship

Danville, Ky. - After a nail-biting comeback Friday night at Sewanee, Rhodes men's lacrosse could win the regular season outright today with a win on the road at Centre College. Down 2-1 after the first period, The Lynx tallied five goals to take a 6-4 halftime lead. That advantage carried the Lynx to victory. It's the second year in a row for Rhodes to go unbeaten in conference play.

Rhodes won 14 of the 18 face-offs and out shot Centre 41-29, however six turnovers in the fourth period put Rhodes fans on edge. In the game, Cameron Link made seven saves in the game to send the Lynx to 10-2 on the year.

Addison Mueller tied the game 3-3 before Steven Yowan scored back-to-back goals within 13 seconds to give Rhodes the lead for good. The Lynx led 8-5 before Centre scored two goals to pull within one point with 1:30 left in the game.

Mueller finished with two goals while Ryan Fennelly led the game with two goals and one assist for three points. Nic Malubay scored a hat trick for Centre while Sam Long saved 11 in cage for the home squad.

Rhodes will close out their regular season with two non-conference games before hosting a semifinal round of the SAA Tournament on April 22nd. The Lynx will travel to Southwestern (TX) on April 14th, followed by a home game against Huntingdon College at 6 p.m. on April 17th.
