Game Recap: Baseball |

Berry took the series over baseball after a trio of late-inning rallies

Mount Berry, Ga. - In a matchup of the top two teams in the Southern Athletic Association, Berry College swept the Lynx this past weekend.

Game one
Berry led 3-0 before Rhodes tied the game on a sac bunt, single and double in the sixth. Berry won the game on a walk-off wild pitch after a Viking singled and made his way around the bases on a stolen base (contested by Rhodes) and wild pitch to third.

Game two
In the first game on Sunday, both teams were held scoreless for seven innings as Trey Sledge struck out nine Vikings over 7.1 innings of work. The Lynx scored two runs when Jacob Telli doubled to left center to score Paul Giacomazzi and Jon Michael Lauck. Berry earned one run back in the bottom half of the inning on a passed ball and earned their second walk-off in as many games when they scored twice on two hits, a hit-by-pitch, and two stolen bases. Telli went three-of-three in the game with a walk.

Game three
Both teams scored a run twice through the first four innings for a tied score of 2-2. A sac fly from Ryan Palermo and a single by Giacomazzi gave Rhodes a two-run lead over the next two innings before the Vikings exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Four different Lynx crossed home while Rhodes used seven pitchers in the game, including five different pitchers in the sixth inning.

The Lynx will host Hendrix College this weekend starting with a doubleheader Saturday, beginning at noon as well as other festivities (more info to come later). The Lynx will close out the regular season at home with Senior Day on Sunday with a noon contest against the Warriors.
