Memphis, Tenn. - Rhodes women's lacrosse hosted No. 4-ranked Birmingham-Southern College in semifinal action of the 2018 Southern Athletic Association Tournament.
The Lynx defeated BSC 28-4 as the Panthers played down one all game with 11 players dressed.
After
Olivia Holmes fed
Kendall Cunningham for the first goal of the game, BSC's Ryanne Ritter tied the game a minute later before
Ashley Doyle scored after the ensuing draw to put the Lynx up for good. The Lynx led 18-2 at halftime with their only other goal of the half coming from Ritter as well.Â
BSC finished the game with six of the last seven goals as Ritter led the Panthers with three goals on the season with Ashley Shephard and Natalie Daniel netting two goals each.
For Rhodes,
Annika Hedlund tallied a career-high six goals on just six shots while Cunningham finished with the game-high nine points including five assists. Holmes tallied a career-tying seven points after four goals and three assists.
Maggie Rippeto also tallied seven points, five coming on assists. In goal,
Mallika Rao tallied a career-high 12 saves.Â
Rhodes will host Centre on Sunday, April 29th at 1 p.m. in the 2018 SAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament Championship.
