Memphis - Rhodes battled and came away with a 10-4 victory over No. 3-seeded Oglethorpe University Friday morning.
Oglethorpe plated two runs before a
Nick Bosma double in the bottom half of the second cut that lead to one run. Rhodes then secured five runs in the fifth to take the lead for good.
Brady John reached on an error to lead off the inning before a single and two walks tied the game.
Ryan Palermo singled in
Paul Giacomazzi to give the Lynx the lead and then Bosma singled in two more runs after Oglethorpe changed pitchers. Two more walks rounded out scoring in the inning.
The Lynx then led 8-2 after securing two runs on two hits and a sac fly in the sixth.
Trey Sledge pitched the win, after going six innings with Bosma picking up his 12th save of the year.
Heurtin and Bosma both earned three RBI while Bosma and
Jacob Telli both doubled. Telli crossed home three times and Palermo finished the day three-of-four.
Rhodes will host No. 6-seeded Centre at 11 a.m. Saturday morning in a semifinal matchup.
