Memphis - Rhodes College men's tennis defeated Centre College on Saturday 5-1 before falling to No. 22-ranked Sewanee 5-2 on Sunday in their final home matches of the season.
Before their match against the Colonels, Rhodes honored their lone senior
Wesley Tolsdorf (Louisville, Ky. / Trinity). The Lynx went up 2-1 after falling at No. 3-doubles 8-6 before winning before winning at No. 1, 4 and 3 singles.
Sean Hogan won his match on a second-set tiebreaker in the third singles position.
The loss to Sewanee snapped a four-game win streak for the Lynx. Rhodes, who is ranked 11th regionally, fell to the sixth-ranked squad in the region after winning at No. 3-doubles (
Ritwik Chatterjee &
Phil Lauture) and No. 5-singles (Lauture).
Rhodes is now 12-6 overall and 4-1 in conference. The Lynx will travel to Millsaps on Saturday and Birmingham-Southern on Sunday to conclude regular season play.
