Auburndale, Fla. - Illinois Wesleyan went up 3-0 before Rhodes tied the game in the seventh with three runs. The Titans earned the victory in the 10th inning after a bases-loaded single.
In the seventh,
Jacob Telli led off with a double for the Lynx after IWU brought in a new pitcher.
Nick Bosma singled to drive in Telli. After
Ryan Palermo was hit by a pitch, IWU changed pitchers once again.
Will Heurtin pinch hit and reached on an error, but Bosma scored to pull within a run.
Brady John then hit the game-tying RBI single through the left side. Unfortunately a double play ended the inning and prevented any more Lynx runs.
In the 10th, with one out and a runner on first, the Lynx chose to intentionally walk John Bosco to go for the double play. A grounder through the left side ended the game.
Telli finished with two doubles while
Jack Mercer struck out eight Titans over six innings of work.
Rhodes will conclude spring break play with a game against Webster University, held on the campus of St. Leo University, on Saturday at 12 p.m. ET.
