Bloomington, Ill. - After suffering their first loss of the season Saturday, Rhodes women's lacrosse rebounded with a 17-9 victory over host Illinois Wesleyan Sunday morning.
The Lynx will now turn around and fly out to California for three games.
Maggie Rippeto once again scored the first goal of the game and finished with another four goals and four assists for the second day in a row.
Leading the Lynx in scoring was
Ashley Doyle who scored a career-high seven goals on just nine shots while also recording four draw controls, three ground balls and one assist. Four of those goals were on free position shots.
In goal,
Lauren Lazure tallied 10 saves as the Lynx improve to 4-1 on the season.
In the game, IWU held a 19-9 draw control advantage but turned the ball over 27 times. Rhodes' won the transition game, earning 16 clears on 18 attempts. Shots were relatively even throughout the game, with Rhodes holding a 34-29 edge.
The Lynx will now travel to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps for a 7 p.m. PST game on Wednesday, March 7th.
