Claremont, Calif. - After two days in the sunshine state, Rhodes women's lacrosse opened West Coast play at No. 23-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Wednesday night. The Lynx lost to the Athenas 20-8 to fall to 4-2 on the year.

Kendall Cunningham for the first goal just four minutes into the game. CMS led 3-2 before Rhodes took a 4-3 lead. The Athens answered with five straight goals before Rhodes closed out the half with two of their own to trail 8-6 at halftime.
CMS took control of the game in the second half, scoring 10 straight goals to lead 18-6. Hedlund ended their scoring streak with a man-up goal with six minutes left in the game. Claremont answered before
Maggie Rippeto notched a free position shot with 2:16 left to end scoring for the Lynx. Claremont wrapped up scoring with a goal with 12 seconds on the clock.
Lauren Lazure tallied 10 saves in the loss. Cunningham finished with a Lynx-high three goals.
Madison Rubino recorded a team-high five caused turnovers and six ground balls while
Ashley Doyle tallied four as well as five ground balls and three draw controls.
Rhodes will next play at Chapman on Friday at 7 p.m. PST.
