Birmingham, Ala. - After posting a 15-6 halftime advantage, Rhodes women's lacrosse went on to defeat host Birmingham-Southern 26-15 and are now 8-3 on the season and 3-0 in conference.
Annika Hedlund once again got scoring started for the Lynx who broke out to a 4-0 lead before BSC answered with three goals. That would be as close to the Lynx as the Panthers would get. BSC tallied their sixth goal in a man-up situation before Rhodes posted six straight goals to end the half, including one man-down.
BSC opened the second half with three straight goals before Rhodes retaliated with three of their own. The Lynx finished with four of the last five goals scored in the contest.
Lauren Lazure tallied 15 saves in the win.
Kendall Cunningham led the Lynx with nine points including eight goals while also tallying a game-high six ground balls.
Olivia Holmes led in the assist category, recording a career-high six assists while teammate
Ashley Doyle added four. Doyle led the game with 12 draw controls. Holmes finished with eight points and
Maggie Rippeto seven points (5G, 2A).
Rhodes is back in action with a neutral-site game at Piedmont College where they will take on Methodist University at 11 a.m. EST.
