Box Score Nashville, Tenn. - Rhodes women's tennis opened 2018 spring play against Tennessee State University. The match was held on Vanderbilt University's campus in Nashville on Saturday.
Rhodes started the match off, winning two of their three doubles events, winning at the first and third slots. In singles,
Ritwik Chatterjee defeated Larry Sloan 6-1, 6-3 while
Andrew Morton defeated Kato Richardson 6-3, 6-2. In the sixth slot,
Sairam Gudiseva split with his opponent, before ultimately suffering a 6-3 loss in the tiebreaker.
Rhodes fell 4-3 in the match. At the NCAA Division I level, each singles matchups are counted as one while whichever team wins the better of the three doubles matches receives one point, for a total of seven possible points in the contest. At the Div. II and III levels, each doubles event is counted as one.
The Lynx are set to host doubleheaders this coming Saturday and Sunday. Rhodes will face Texas A&M Arkana (11am) and the University of Alabama at Huntsville (3pm) Saturday. On Sunday the Lynx will take on Spring Hill at 9am followed by Blue Mountain College at 3:30pm.
