Memphis - Rhodes College led 30-18 over Welch College and increased that lead after a three-point filled third quarter. Eventually Rhodes defeated the Flames 75-41, but not before several individuals eclipsed career nights.
The Lynx came out firing hot from behind the arc in the third frame, missing just two of nine attempts. Paving the way was senior
Jessie Ustick who drained all three attempts. She also began the game with the first trey of the night for Rhodes in the first quarter, and finished with 14 points. Freshman forward
Maya Longacre got in on the long-ball action from the top of the key on her first career attempt.
Moriah Muhammad posted eight of her career-high 18 points in the fourth quarter. She went eight-of-13 on the night and pulled in six rebounds while also adding two blocks. Freshman
Caroline Taylor also had a career-night after tallying six assists, three of which came in the first quarter alone. She also led Rhodes with three steals.
The Lynx will now turn to senior day on Saturday when they host Hendrix College at 3 p.m. Rhodes will honor seniors
Erin Deery and
Jessie Ustick at halftime of the men's game. The men are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
