Memphis - Rhodes men's basketball led 35-18 over the Millsaps College Majors but the visitors scored 10 straight points to begin closing the gap. Millsaps led 55-54 at halftime.
While scoring went back and forth to begin the second half, Rhodes' first 10 buckets were three-pointers, allowing them to take the lead and stay just ahead of the Majors. The first five long balls were by five different Lynx as the hosts got up to a 14-point advantage in the second half.
Eleven different Lynx scored three-pointers, led by
Mitch Weatherford who went three-of-four on the day.
Bryce Berry tallied a career-high five blocks while also scoring 13 points.
Vaughn Samson led the Lynx with 18 points alongside
Preston Giroux's well-rounded night of 16 points and eight rebounds.
Overall, Rhodes shot 44.8% on the night and made 20-of-48 three-point attempts for an average of .417.
The Lynx are set to host Birmingham-Southern Sunday at 3 p.m.
