Bosma's ninth-inning pitching saves Lynx against Huntingdon

Montgomery, Ala. - With an original start time of 11am, Rhodes and Huntingdon finally took to the field around 1:30pm due to the weather. Rhodes led 6-2 headed into the bottom of the ninth when the Hawks loaded the bases with no outs. Junior Nick Bosma was called to the mound and boy did he deliver. Bosma struck out his first batter swinging. The Hawks scored on the next fielder's choice but a flyout ended the inning as Bosma earned his second save of the season.

The Lynx scored two runs on two hits and a hit by pitch in the first inning and one run on a Zac Lange sacrifice fly in the second to lead 3-1. A leadoff double in the third allowed Huntingdon to creep closer but Lange added another RBI on a leadoff home run, his second in as many games. The Lynx crossed the plate once in the seventh and ninth innings to take the 6-2 lead headed into the final at-bat for the Hawks.

Paul Giacomazzi also earned two RBI and went two-of-five on the day while Jon Michael Lauck scored twice for the Lynx.

The win elevates Rhodes to 4-3 on the season. The team is set to host Christian Brothers University for a Memphis matchup at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14th.
