Tunica, Miss. - The Rhodes College swimming & diving teams produced one of their strongest performances in team history on Saturday, as the Lynx men and women nearly swept the nationally ranked Birmingham-Southern Panthers. The Rhodes women defeated BSC 166-96, while the men fell just short, losing 137-124 to the Panthers.
The women posted strong efforts across the board, with five different Lynx winning events. Senior
Allie Hill led the event winners with victories in the 100 Back (59.02,) 200 Breast (2:28.43,) and the 200 IM (2:12.22.) Freshman

Madi Griffin each won 2 events, with Metts taking the 200 Back (2:10.89) and 500 Free (5:20.83,) and Griffin taking the 200 Free (1:59.33) and 100 Free (54.87.) Junior
Grace Tolan and freshman
Julia Cronk teamed to sweep the 100 and 200 Fly with Tolan taking the 200 (2:18.69,) and Cronk taking first in the 100 (1:01.00.) The Lynx won both relays on the day, with Hill, freshman

Brittany Pierce posting a 1:52.60 in the 200 Medley Relay, and Metts, sophomore
Mary Beth Baker, Pierce, and Griffin posting a 3:42.42 in the 400 Free Relay.
The men produced an exceptional effort in taking the BSC Panthers to the final event on the way to a 137-124 loss. The Lynx were led by sophomore
Hayden Hill who posted three individual victories in the 200 Fly (1:53.35,) 100 Fly (51.30,) and 200 IM (1:57.01.) Freshmen
Roland Chang and
Zac Gammons followed suit with a pair of victories each. Chang took first in the 1000 Free (10:14.19) and the 500 Free (4:53.91,) while Gammons took the 50 Free (22.41) and the 100 Back (56.13).
The Lynx started the session with a bang, establishing a new school record on the way to winning the 200 Medley Relay in a time of 1:37.58. The relay was made up of Gammons, freshman
Richard Gentry, Hill, and freshman
Evan Ziolkowski.
Rhodes returns to action on November 9 in a double dual against Southwestern and Ouachita Baptist in Arkadelphia, Ark.
