The Rhodes College Swimming & Diving teams showed up to race in Conway, AR today, sweeping the Hendrix Warriors in the process. The men defeated Hendrix 133-77, while the women defeated the Warriors 170-61.
The Lynx started the day by sweeping the men's and women's 400 medley relays. The team of
Allie Hill,
Emily Ulmer,
Julia Cronk, and
Madi Griffin touched first in a time of 4:07.95, before the men's team of
Zac Gammons,
Richard Gentry,
Hayden Hill, and
Evan Ziolkowski took first in a time of 3:36.34.
Individually the Lynx were led by
Julia Cronk,
Madi Griffin,
Elizabeth McAninch, and
Margaret Johnson who each won a pair of events for Rhodes. Cronk touched first in the 200 IM with a season best time of 2:18.64, and first in the 200 breast in a lifetime best time of 2:35.08.
Madi Griffin took first in the 200 and 100 freestyles in times of 1:57.99 and 54.05 respectively.
Elizabeth McAninch took first on both boards, scoring 162.00 on 1-meter and 175.45 on 3-meter.
Margaret Johnson rounded out the women's double winners touching first with a lifetime best of 18:46.23 in the 1650, and a season best time of 5:28.11 in the 500 free.
Other individual winners for the women included
Mary Beth Baker touching first in the 50 free in a time of 25.69 while
Grace Tolan touching first in the 200 fly (2:15.75), and
Allie Hill touching first in the 200 back in a time of 2:05.88.
For the men,
Hayden Hill and
Roland Chang each won a pair of individual events to lead a balanced attack against the Warriors. Hill took first in the 200 free in a time of time 1:45.42, and touched first in the 200 fly in a time of 1:55.13. Chang continued his hot streak in the distance events, with wins in the 1650 and 500 free in times of 17:03.87 and 4:57.54.
Also taking event wins for the Lynx were Gammons winning the 50 free in 22.42 and Gentry touching first in the 200 back in a time of 2:04.10.
The men capped the day by taking first in the 200 freestyle relay with Gammons,
David Pitts,
Ryan Jones, and
Arrington Moses combining for a time of 1:31.05. The wins took the men's record for the season to 2-3, while the women moved to 4-1.
The Lynx will return to action at the Transylvania Invitational on December 1-2 in Lexington, Ky.
