Memphis - Rhodes College women's soccer succumbed to No. 11-ranked Centre College Friday afternoon in a conference rivalry matchup. The 5-0 loss if the first conference loss for the Lynx who are now 5-4-1 on the season. Rhodes is third in the Southern Athletic Association standings with a 2-1 conference record.
Centre's game-winning goal came in the 13th minute after their initial shot was blocked. Madeleine Espy gathered the rebound and put the ball in the back of the net five feet in front of the goal. The Colonels scored again less than three minutes later and once more before halftime.
Espy added another goal in the 55th minute before a header late in the game sealed the final goal of the game.
Centre recorded 14 shots while Rhodes tallied three good looks on the day.
Meghan Kiker made one save and
Abby Roevens two saves in goal for the Lynx.
