Memphis - Rhodes College men's soccer scored the first goal of the game against Centre College on a hot October, Friday afternoon. The Lynx ultimately finished the home contest with a victory in the 68th minute off a header. The win takes Rhodes to 6-3 on the season and 2-1 in conference play. Centre is now 7-4-1 overall and 0-2-1 in the Southern Athletic Association.
Sophomore
Ian Schiller recorded the first two shots of the game for Rhodes, ultimately netting the first goal of the game to the top left corner just 3:31 into the contest. The goal is the first allowed by Centre in any first half this season.
Just four minutes later the Colonels tied the game to conclude scoring in the first half. Starting goalkeeper
Will Birka-White eliminated a Colonel cross in the 22nd minute. Not long afterwards, Rhodes was called for a foul. The Colonels received a free kick 20 yards out which Birka-White saved as it curved up and over the defensive wall.

Patrick Wilkerson made a sliding save in a one-on-one situation in the 61st minute to keep the game tied. Seven minutes later sophomore
Pavan Ramachandria scored the game-winning goal, the first goal of his career, on a header from freshman
Travis Tuerff.
Rhodes continued to be an offensive threat, closing out the game with a 5-1 shot advantage. The Lynx tallied 14 shots in the game while Centre held a 6-2 corner kick advantage.
The Lynx will honor their seniors this Sunday in their final regular season home game when they host Sewanee at noon.
