Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Volleyball drops Mid-Week Matchup against Hendrix

Memphis - In their fourth game of a six-game home stand, Rhodes volleyball fell to Hendrix in straight sets, 23-25, 11-25, 19-25. The loss takes the Lynx to 10-7 on the season and 3-5 in conference play.

Rhodes jumped out to a 4-0 lead to start the rivalry, eventually taking a 14-6 lead on a kill from junior Heather Antrim. Hendrix immediately called a timeout after Rhodes secured their eight-point advantage, igniting fire under the Warriors who would come back to tie the game 21-21 on an ace. Rhodes trailed by one before a quick set in the middle to senior Morgan Hill tied the game. Hendrix secured the first set victory on a kill and Lynx attack error.

Hendrix dominated the second set, scoring nine straight points on their way to a 12-2 lead. The Warriors hit .500 in the set along with four aces. Rhodes tallied three points on aces during the middle set while accumulating 10 digs.

In the third set, the Lynx tallied a .233 hitting percentage as they recorded 11 kills. Third set play was back and forth until Hendrix took a 5-4 edge. The Warriors continued to lead throughout the match by about three points. A kill from junior Emily Korba secured Rhodes' second point in a row until Hendrix went on a five-point run to lead 24-16. The Lynx staved off the loss for a little while, recording three straight points before the game ended on a Hendrix tip.

Korba led the Lynx offensively while sophomore Kelsey Glasper dug out 16 Hendrix attacks. Freshman Marissa Hall recorded 17 assists on the night while Hill finished with two blocks.

Rhodes rounds out their home stand with a noon game against Millsaps on Saturday followed by a noon contest against Birmingham-Southern on Sunday. The Lynx are spreading awareness about Domestic Violence and will be collecting toiletries and personal hygiene products to hand out to survivors in the community.
